After living in Provence for over 15 years what never ceases to impress me is the abundance and fine quality of artisanal food products found here in the markets. The French commitment to quality is unwavering. There are scrumptious handmade goodies in nearly every town and small village: beautiful cheeses and breads, cured meats, fruits, olives, olive oil, and black truffles, not to mention the wine! The local markets are a food lover’s paradise. This is where I find the best products in Provence.
The market vendors keep it small and insist on top quality. They rely on the freshest products, from small producers. It is often the farmer himself selling his wares. A real joy is in meeting passionate local characters, who love what they do and are thrilled to share their experiences with interested visitors.

Half-Day Gastronomic Market Tour - Begin the day in one of my favorite local markets. Meet the purveyors, tastings of artisanal products - olives and spreads, cheeses, cured meats, olive oils, chocolate, candied fruits, and confections. Learn about how products are made, food lore, and Provencal recipes. Finish our tour in a lively local cafe with a beverage toasting to the bounty of Provence.
Cost: 55 Euros per person, minimum of 2 guests. Included - a 2-hour market visit on foot, food tastings, and a beverage.
Full-Day Foodie Adventure - This is a wonderful way to spend a day in Provence, an in-depth look at how food is produced, including the above-market tour in the morning, a picnic lunch, visit a goat cheese farm, and wine domains for tasting some of the areas best wines.
Cost: 125 Euros per person, minimum of 2 guests. This tour includes a morning market tour, farm visit, picnic, and wine tastings. Transportation to and from the farm and wineries.
